Before the Mehranghar Fort came to life, the now Mandore Gardens was the town’s fortress. Today, the ruins of the historic structure hold archaeological significance and still remain at the spot, surrounded by lush gardens. That’s not it, the gardens are home to a bunch of cenotaphs (architectural structures made of stones - often temples, reading rooms, outhouses etc.) that served during these historic times. Be careful, the garden is full of monkeys, mostly friendly, but better safe than sorry.
